Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions apply to all bookings made with Mull Wildlife Hides and to the use of our website. By making a booking, you confirm that you have read these Terms and Conditions and agree to them on behalf of yourself and any other person included in your booking. The person making the booking must be aged 18 or over.

We want every visitor to have an enjoyable, safe and rewarding experience in nature. Our hides are located in outdoor environments and, in some cases, on working estates or farms, so these Terms and Conditions are designed to protect wildlife, visitors, landowners and our business.

Bookings, Payments and Cancellations

All bookings are managed through our booking system. A booking is confirmed only when payment has been received in full and you have received confirmation from us.

If you need to cancel more than 48 hours before your booked session, we will provide a full refund. We process refunds within 24hrs of cancellation. Refunds will be returned to your original payment method, however may take several working days to appear depending on your bank or card provider.

If you cancel within 48 hours of the start of a booked session, the booking fee is non-refundable. As these bookings relate to leisure activities for a specific date or period, the usual 14-day cooling-off cancellation right may not apply where the law allows an exemption.

If you fail to attend, arrive too late to take part, or choose to leave before your end time, no refund will be due.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule a booking where this is necessary for safety, wildlife welfare, severe weather, access restrictions, operational reasons or circumstances beyond our reasonable control. If we cancel your booking and cannot offer a suitable alternative date, we will refund the amount paid for that booking.

Travel Disruptions & Ferry Cancellations

We strongly advise all clients to ensure they have adequate travel insurance in place to cover all aspects of their trip, including scheduled activities.

Due to our location, ferry service disruptions (including cancellations or delays by operators such as CalMac) can occur, particularly during winter months. Please note that we cannot be held responsible or liable for client travel disruptions, transport failures or weather related delays.

In the event that you are unable to reach us due to ferry cancellations or travel delays, our standard cancellation and rescheduling policy applies, and payments cannot be refunded or transferred. Any financial loss incurred should be claimed directly through your travel provider.

Arrival, Access and Visitor Responsibilities

Please arrive in good time and follow any access instructions provided. Late arrival will make access impractical or disruptive to wildlife. Access may involve uneven ground, mud, wet surfaces, low light and rural terrain, so suitable clothing and sensible footwear are required. For sessions that begin or end during twilight hours or in darkness, visitors must bring a suitable torch or headlamp to safely navigate the unlit path.

You must follow all instructions given by us in relation to parking, access, movement around the site, hide use and departure procedures.

Wildlife Welfare and Visitor Conduct

The welfare of wildlife always takes priority over photography. You must not intentionally disturb, harass or otherwise interfere with animals, birds or their habitat. We do not guarantee sightings of any particular species, behaviour or photographic outcome.

Visitors must behave in a respectful and responsible manner at all times. Excessive noise, disruptive behaviour, unsafe conduct, smoking in prohibited areas, alcohol or drug misuse, damage to property, or failure to follow instructions may result in the session being ended and you being asked to leave without refund. You will remain responsible for any loss or damage caused by you or any member of your group.

Health and Safety

By attending, you accept that outdoor wildlife photography carries inherent risks, including uneven ground, slips, trips, changing weather, insects, livestock, rural traffic and other natural hazards. You are responsible for deciding whether the experience is suitable for you and for informing us in advance of any accessibility issue, medical condition or other circumstance that may affect your visit or require reasonable adjustments.

We maintain our hides and access arrangements to a reasonable standard, but, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for personal injury, illness, loss, delay or damage arising from outdoor conditions, terrain, weather, wildlife activity, acts or omissions of third parties, or your failure to follow instructions. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability which cannot lawfully be excluded. Your statutory rights as a consumer are not affected.

You are responsible for your own cameras, lenses, clothing, vehicles and other personal belongings at all times. We do not accept responsibility for loss of, theft of, or damage to personal equipment or other belongings unless caused by our negligence.

Site Monitoring & Security

Trail cameras operate 24 hours a day across the hide location and surrounding ground for wildlife monitoring and site security. Any footage capturing identifiable individuals is routinely deleted, while footage featuring wildlife may be retained as per our privacy policy. By visiting the hide site, you acknowledge that automated image recording is active in these outdoor areas.

Weather, Wildlife and Force Majeure

Nature is unpredictable. Wildlife sightings and photographic opportunities will vary according to season, weather, light, habitat conditions and animal behaviour. Bookings are made for the experience of using the hide and observing wildlife, not for guaranteed sightings or specific photographic results.

We are not liable for failure or delay in performing our obligations where this is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including severe weather, storm damage, flooding, fire, disease outbreak, government action, transport disruption, estate operations, utility failure or restricted site access. As some hides are located on working estates or farms, there may occasionally be noise or operational activity outside our control.

Complaints

If you have a problem during your visit, you must tell us as soon as possible so that we have a fair opportunity to investigate and, where possible, put things right. If you wish to make a complaint after your visit, please contact us in writing as soon as reasonably possible, setting out the details of your complaint.

Booking Communications

Booking confirmations, receipts, reminders and other booking-related documents will normally be sent by email. You are responsible for providing accurate contact details and for checking your email account, including junk or spam folders, for important communications from us.

Unless otherwise stated, all photographs, text and other materials on our website are owned by or licensed to Mull Wildlife Hides and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights. They may not be copied, reproduced, published, distributed, adapted or used for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
